Sensible decisions when buying gizmos are overturned by Fanboyism
As the 21st century men, we are always seeking the help of gadgets in our daily lives. The gadgets may be big or small, but the fact is that we can’t imagine life without them a few years back. We take pride in owning gadgets- latest smartphones, laptops, smart wearables, you name it, we want it! Do we consider our financial status when buying a cool looking(supposedly) gadget? The answer most probably is a No.
We’ve seeing gadgets coming with lots of pointless features to try & trap the buyers. A common feature may be GPS in Cameras,Analog TV in smartphones(long back:now deprecated),Embedded cameras in TV & there are a lot more which the OEMs & people think as ingenious gadgets.
Why? Because People want to showcase their status through flaunting devices which are expensive. Well, no one would say that he/she owns a Nokia 1100 will they?
Ask someone who bought any expensive gadget about its value for money it offered to them.If possible, try to critise him/her(in a funny manner, mind you), you can see that they are furious & defend their purchase aggressively. They will quote positive reviews, company press releases & every source of good info about their device.Try teasing an iPhone owner and then just note their reaction.Phew!
Same way, people don’t even have basic needs are seen walking with powerful phones that I feel that I’m in some other part of world.
People sell Kidney to buy gadgets. The worst news I heard. There was a dispatch from China saying that someone sold a kidney to buy an iPhone, but why?
It’s downright ridiculous to hear such news, often when there’s mood for a laugh. But seriously, isn’t that something dangerous? A signal of something odd happening in the future?
