Samsung J2 2016 and J2 Max rolled out in India:Features & Price

Samsung J2 and J Max now available in India.

Samsung has launched two new smartphones Samsung J2 & J Max in India. While J Max is a new smartphone, J2 2016 is touted as the incremental upgrade to J2 1st Gen. The phones also feature Turbo Speed technology, which Samsung claims as industry first. It supposedly reduces RAM usage by optimising native apps & stopping idle processes.

Let’s briefly go through the individual features of Samsung J2 & J2 Max:

Samsung J2:

It features a 5 inch screen. The device is powered by 1.5 GHz Quad core chipset. The RAM is 1.5GB & should suffice. You get an 8MP rear camera & 5MP front cam for selfie lovers.

It will be running Android Marshmallow out of the box.

The internal storage is of 128GB (which should be enough) & if not you get a 200GB expanable microSD slot for further expansion. The juice in the battery is 2600mAh & I’m not sure that this low capacity battery can it power it or not. Price will be around ₹9750.

Samsung J Max:

The J Max is bigger, and features a 7 inch WXGA display. But is powered by the same 1.5 GHz Chipset & 1.5GB RAM. J Max also has 128GB Internal SD which is expandable to 200GB. The camera is 8MP while the front camera is a little small in pixels-just 2MP.

The J Max runs Android Lollipop & has a 4000mAh battery pack. Price, you ask? Well, it’s just ₹13,400.

Both smartphones feature ‘Smart Glow’ where the Camera Flash(Multicoloured Flash) LED lights up in desired color when there’s new notification or call. They also have a redesigned UI, which is a bit different from older Samsung UI’s.

As usual, the S Bike mode also finds a place in both the phones. Overall, it looks an interesting buy.
