Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition has been launched which has 10-cores for performance hungry geeks!
Intel Core i7 Extreme edition is not the average processor you have in your computer. Nor can we compare it with current generation of Core i7 chipsets. Because this processor has 10 high performance cores & comes with factory unlocked multipliers, which means that the user can simply overclock the processor to unleash a beast from Inside.
The chipset prototype was unveiled at the Computex Taipei 2016.
This was after a long time that we finally hear something credible from Intel. Apparently, there were rumours that Intel was trying to develop an 8 core processor after AMD’s Bulldozer chipset which had 8 cores. Now the Intel Core i7 Extreme comes not only in 10 core, but also in 8 & 6 cores respectively. Intel claims that the i7 Extreme can handle 4K Video Editing & Transcoding(Just compare this: My computer crashed when I tried to play a 4K video in Windows. The processor:Intel Core i3, RAM:8GB & Graphics:AMD Radeon HD 5450).
Designed for the extreme performance needs of enthusiasts, the Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition delivers with up to 10 cores and 20 threads, 40 PCIe lanes, and a new Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 to cater the most demanding workloads.
The 40 PCIe lanes enable the Motherboards to install more SSDs & supports upto 4 Graphic Cards in SLI. Massive Intel Smart Cache of up to 25 MB and quad-channel memory can improve responsiveness and decreases startup time when working with large files and applications.
The Turbo Boost 3.0 enables applications to switch to the fastest running core in the CPU & hence improves Single threaded processes upto 15%. The chipset also supports 4DDR3 2400 MHz RAM Modules for lightning fast computing tasks.
