Asus launched their new laptop Asus ZenBook 3 today. The ZenBook 3 is thinner than MacBook Air but has more power than the MacBook itself. The Asus ZenBook 3 touts to having the smallest cooling fan at just 3mm thick. The whole notebook is just 11.9mm thick but still has a 12.5 inches screen.
Asus unveiled ZenBook 3 & other devices at the Computex Taipei today. The other devices will be covered in another article in detail.
The ZenBook packs in an Intel Core i7 processor despite being so thin with other top of the line specs like 16GB RAM & 1TB SSD. It also features an Intel i5 model which has 4GB RAM & 256GB SSD.
The keyboard on ZenBook 3 is more spaced out & has gold backlit keys for easy operation in the night. The whole thing has Gorilla Glass which seems pretty much a norm these days. The ZenBook 3 also features a 9 hour battery with quick charge technology which claims to charge upto 60% within 45 minutes.
The ZenBook 3 features a fingerprint reader which natively supports Windows Hello. The design of the laptop is a lot like the Zenfone series, the groovy lines which we’ve seen on the Zenfone are there. The laptop weighs just 910 grams.
The ZenBook 3 also discards conventional charging ports to take up a USB-C port for charging. It also features a Thunderbolt port.
The ZenBook 3 comes with Windows 10 out of the box.
Even though the Keyboard seemed spaced, the overall typing experience was not upto the mark. Touch the keys & you’ll be a little reluctant to type on again. I don’t know why this happens(or is it only for me?).
Asus attributes the ZenBook 3’s weight loss to a new “aerospace-grade aluminum alloy,” which it says is 40 percent stronger than what’s typically used in laptops. It’ll be available in “Quartz Grey,” “Royal Blue,” and the seemingly ubiquitous “Rose Gold.”
